Managed OpenStack quickstart
This guide takes you from a new VM2Cloud Managed OpenStack tenancy to a running instance. It assumes you have received your tenancy details from the VM2Cloud onboarding team (get in touch).
1. Access your tenancy
Section titled “1. Access your tenancy”After onboarding you receive:
- A web dashboard URL for your region — a browser-based console, with nothing to install.
- A project (tenant) name and your user credentials.
- An
openrcfile containing the API endpoints and auth environment variables for the CLI.
2. Install the CLI
Section titled “2. Install the CLI”python3 -m pip install python-openstackclient3. Authenticate
Section titled “3. Authenticate”Source the openrc file and confirm access:
