Managed OpenStack API and automation
VM2Cloud Managed OpenStack exposes the standard OpenStack API. Use the web dashboard for interactive administration, and the OpenStack APIs and CLI for automation.
Authentication
Section titled “Authentication”Obtain a token from Keystone, then pass it as X-Auth-Token on subsequent
calls:
curl -s -X POST "$OS_AUTH_URL/auth/tokens" \ -H "Content-Type: application/json" \ -d '{ "auth": { "identity": { "methods": ["password"], "password": { "user": { "name": "'"$OS_USERNAME"'", "domain": { "name": "Default" }, "password": "'"$OS_PASSWORD"'" } } }, "scope": { "project": { "name": "'"$OS_PROJECT_NAME"'", "domain": { "name": "Default" } } } } }' -i | grep -i x-subject-tokenFor unattended automation, prefer application credentials over passwords — they can be scoped and revoked independently of the account that created them:
openstack application credential create ci-runnerSDKs and tooling
